On October 2, 2018, a CCHSS audit at Good Samaritan Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre revealed multiple areas of non-compliance. These included issues with documentation for restraint use (Sub-Standard 16.3), policies for restraint use (Sub-Standard 16.1), oral care assistance and bathing frequency (Sub-Standard 14.1), medication management (Sub-Standard 12.1), infection prevention and control (IPC) procedures (Sub-Standard 11.1), managed risk agreements (Sub-Standard 10.1), staff training documentation (Sub-Standard 9.2), and equipment maintenance (Sub-Standard 6.3).

Additionally, the audit found deficiencies in palliative and end-of-life care documentation (Sub-Standard 5.3), the review of the client’s care plan (Sub-Standards 1.8 and 1.4), and the implementation of policies related to these areas.

On February 8, 2018, an inspection under the Accommodation Standard was conducted at Good Samaritan Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre. The facility was found to be compliant with the standards being evaluated.
