Additionally, issues were noted with documented compliance to staff training (Sub-Standard 9.4), maintaining equipment (Sub-Standard 6.3), provision and referral to assistive equipment (Sub-Standard 6.1), care plan reviews by a physician or nurse practitioner (Sub-Standard 1.10), documenting and communicating changes in care plans (Sub-Standard 1.9), interdisciplinary team reviews of care plans (Sub-Standard 1.7), and documentation of client or representative participation in care plans (Sub-Standard 1.6).
The audit also highlighted deficiencies in medical status assessments (Sub-Standard 1.4), addressing client needs in the care plan (Sub-Standard 1.3), reviewing the client’s care plan (Sub-Standard 1.8), updating the care plan to reflect assessment findings (Sub-Standard 1.2), and using appropriate assessment tools for client health care needs (Sub-Standard 1.1).
On June 1, 2023, an inspection under the Accommodation Standard, along with a complaint investigation, was conducted at Extendicare Eaux Claires. Both inspections found the facility to be non-compliant in maintaining the accommodation (Sub-Standard 3.1).
